Southwest Florida Blues Society, Inc. was officially Incorporated as a Florida Non-Profit corporation on March 31st. 2011.  We have have registered more than 760 members since our inception. 

1) The purpose of this Corporation will be to provide for the preservation, promotion and enhancement of one of America’s indigenous cultures “Blues Music”, on a nonprofit basis consistent with the provisions set forth in the Corporation's Articles of Incorporation.

2) To support and promote “Blues Music” throughout Southwest Florida on all levels and at multiple venues; to increase awareness of and appreciation for “Blues Music” through society sanctioned educational efforts, and provide a network of association for area and worldwide blues lovers. 

For the purposes of the Southwest Florida Blues Society, the term “Blues” as it is applied to music shall be given the widest definition possible. Generally if the artist(s) considers their music to be blues and /or the audience accepts it as blues, then the Southwest Florida Blues Society will also consider it to be "Blues".
