Awards and Nominations

Eden is a renowned songwriter, performer and recording artist, and has received numerous awards and nominations. She is a former Mississippi Arts Commission Folk Arts Fellowship recipient, is included in the Mississippi Touring Artist Roster, and was apprentice to Abie “Boogaloo” Ames in a 1994 Folk Arts Apprenticeship. In 2011 she received the Popular Music Award from Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters for her album Ain’t Got No Troubles. In addition, she has a dozen nominations in the Living Blues Awards, and she won the International Blues Challenge in 2006.

After six years of studio silence, Eden Brent emerges with
Getaway Blues, her bluesiest album to date.

Recordings

Eden is a Yellow Dog Records recording artist and there are six solo albums in her catalogue: Something Cool (2003); Mississippi Number One (2008); Ain’t Got No Troubles (2010); Jigsaw Heart (2014); An Eden Brent Christmas with Bob Dowell (2018), and Getaway Blues (2024). She boogies on Kern Pratt’s 2019 release Greenville, MS and sings the duet “Southern Honey” with bluesman Johnny Rawls on his 2016 Tiger in a Cage album. In 2012 she recorded Party Dress, an album of songs written by their late mother, Carole Brent, with her sisters, Jessica and Bronwynne, both songwriters.

Event Information:

This is a Southwest Florida Blues Society Event, produced in appreciation for your membership and our volunteer supporters. These special events usually showcase acts that aren’t often routing through Southwest Florida. Providing a special opportunity to see award winning National and International Acts in an intement setting. This performance is open to the public and “free to attend”, the Southwest Florida Blues Society will be offering half-price memberships and renewals during this show.
